How To Add Foil To Your Wedding Invites

Slate + Brush offers all kinds of upgrades from white ink printing to vellum wraps, but one of my favorites updates is foil! It’s offered in many different colors they can be added to your invitations as well as your wax seals for that perfect amount of shine.

If you’re looking for something a little more subtle, black foil on black paper is a sleek look that will really elevate your invites. This suite was for a NYE wedding so the couple really wanted something that was unique and modern with a classic twist. Other fun details were the white ink line drawing of their venue Phoenixville Foundry metallic gold ink throughout all of the cards, making it truly a memorable and stunning suite!

You can also opt to do a contrasting foil color like this rose gold foil on ivory paper. This paper is also soft touch so it has a waxy feel to it, which is definitely one of my favorite paper upgrades! Originally the foil was only going to be on the main invitation card but the client decided to add it to the RSVP card as well. How cute are the meal icons in the foil?! I love how it looks with the blush envelopes. This wedding was at Renault Winery, so having a romantic and light look to the invites was key in matching the tone of the wedding venue.

Another way to add foil to your suite is through the wax seals. Each wax seal has foil flakes applied by hand so each seal is slightly different from each other. The white or ivory color option with the gold is a stunning combo and really shows up well! You could have a more personalized monogram with your initials or something like these with florals - the options are truly endless!

What do you think of adding foil to your wedding invites? It will always be one of my favorite upgrades and something I love when clients add to really make their suite shine and stand out in your guests’ mailboxes!
