A Black and White Modern Wedding
While I love working with color, there’s something just so special about working with a black and white color palette! It’s strong, bold, and truly eye-catching. Rachael and Ken wanted designs that were a bit of a twist on the traditional wedding pieces that made guests know they were in for one incredible party!
Guests were first greeted by this beautiful mirror with white vinyl. What’s so great about this piece is that this mirror was a rentable piece from the planner, Brielle of I DO Wedding & Event Planning, who also applied the removable vinyl for the couple. I always ask clients if they want to use removable or permanent vinyl depending on if they’re renting the mirror or they own it and want to have it be a statement piece in their home after the wedding. We also created a clear acrylic welcome sign that was hanging up on a gold structure that was also a rentable piece from Brielle’s team. Easy, functional, and beautiful!
One of my favorite items I designed for Rachael and Ken were their welcome sign and seating chart. I’m all for large signage that creates a statement, and this definitely does that. I left room at the bottom of the 4’ x 6’ seating chart for the greenery and to make it easier for guests to read the bottom tables. The welcome sign lets their guests know that they will not be sitting on the sidelines for this wedding and that it really is a party! I also designed the monogram that was used throughout the other pieces in order to make it all super cohesive and branded. You can never go wrong with a good monogram!
The last piece I designed for the couple was this clear acrylic signature sips sign. I was debating about using a clear acrylic block but decided to go with the black acrylic block instead for a bit of contrast. The black text makes it easier for guests to read versus the white, which is always important to think about in the design process. The final touch was writing the date in Roman numerals - always a classic look that is a crowd pleaser! I like going with an acrylic drink sign because then clients can keep their signs on their bar carts in their home after the wedding.
You can truly feel all of the love and happiness through Rachael and Ken’s photos - it just radiates through. All of the guests are beaming looking at the couple and you can just tell how special the couple really is. Everything was executed perfectly, from their stunning venue to the bright florals, and it was a wedding to remember. Congrats on this next chapter as husband and wife, Rachael and Ken! Wishing you a lifetime of happiness and epic parties.
