Hannah and Dave's Martha's Vineyard Wedding

Martha's Vineyard summer wedding

While I have designed for a lot of weddings, Hannah and Dave’s Martha’s Vineyard wedding is truly one of my favorites I have ever worked on. The pictures taken by Aubrey Oothout Photo truly look like they were taken right from a magazine! Their “Life’s A Party With You” theme truly came through with all of their fun details, from espresso martinis for the guests to the disco balls hanging above the dance floor.

When Hannah and Dave’s guests first entered the wedding tent they were met by this incredible arched mirror that we added vinyl lettering to the top of. The couple had absolutely perfect weather on their wedding day and the reflection of the water in the mirror is stunning. It was a great spot for guests to take selfies in and such an easy way to add a fun personal touch. After the mirror, guests then walked up to one of my favorite seating charts of all time. The couple wanted something that could be used after the wedding, so I found glass gold frames that I glued an array of dried florals into and then added white vinyl on top with the table numbers and guest names. They could later scrape that vinyl off and have the pretty frames to hang up in their home. I love creating pieces that have multiple uses! Their wedding coordinator built the wooden backdrop, applied the matching vinyl at the top, and then hung up each frame. How gorgeous is the final look?!

After the guests found their tables, they were able to enjoy an amazing cocktail hour. There was someone shucking fresh oysters which matched back to their escort cards with little watercolor oyster shells on them. Cocktail hour is also never complete without a watercolor pet portrait of the couple’s fur baby! Millie is such a sweet girl and now they also have the original painting to hang up in their home after the wedding as well.

On the tables, we added cards with a heartfelt thank you from the couple as well as a QR code to a group photo album so that guests could contribute to with photos they took throughout the day. The shades of green on the cards coordinated perfectly with the baby’s breath and leaves that were laying across the tables.

One last detail from the wedding I loved was the fact that after the ceremony Hannah changed into her mom’s wedding dress that she had altered order to turn it into the cutest party dress ever. It’s sentimental and perfect for dancing with her favorite people and talented band - the best combo ever! I’m so grateful to have worked with Hannah and Dave on their picture perfect wedding. Congrats to the newly Mr. and Mrs. Walsh and for starting this next chapter of your lives together!!
